About Me

Since graduating in 2003 I have worked as a professional Stop Motion Animator at studios Cosgrove Hall Films, Chapman Entertainment and Aardman Animations. Shows I have worked on include 'Little Robots', 'Fifi and the Flowertots', 'Roary the Racing Car', 'Rupert Bear', 'Postman Pat', 'Shaun the Sheep' and the recent film 'The Pirates: In an Adventure with Scientists'. I was born in 1980 and have very fond memories of 'Spatz'. I am really hoping it will get the DVD release it deserves! :)

Hi Richard,

Well done for taking on the prospect of Spatz on DVD! Some would say that a campaign for it is long overdue, and it certainly makes sense to seize the initiative in the wake of the Old Skool Weekend. Please let me know if you hear back from Network DVD and if things sound promising then I'll throw my weight behind it and spread the word. At this stage I'm a little wary of false hope, since DVD campaigns that hit a dead end (such as the one for Knightmare, another CITV favourite of mine and still very popular) can be demoralising.

One note of caution: great as it would be to have more full episodes of Spatz on YouTube, they could damage the chances of a DVD release. Short clips might be the way forward.

I'm also hanging onto the hope that CITV will do another Old Skool Weekend or similar, and that we haven't seen the last of Spatz on TV.

Thanks again for giving Spatz so much support.

Best wishes,

David
